Terk XMICRO2 Single Output High Performance Roof Mount XM Antenna

Filed under: Terk — rockpolaris @ 8:18 pm

I bought this antenna to replace the one that came with my RoadyXT. The original one was about 5 years old and the signal had been dropping over the years to the point I was getting between 0 and 2 bars of signal for the satellite and 3 or 4 for the terrestrial. This antenna is almost exactly like the original, but the wire to it is stiffer. I liked that because it made it easier to push under panels and carpet and stuff while routing it through the car. I just had to be careful not to kink it. I now get 2 or 3 bars on satellite and 4 on terrestrial all the time. It came with a little right-angle adapter that fit my radio perfectly. I installed it about 6 inches in front of the rear window on the roof of the car, the same place I had the original one.

Feature

  • Replacement antenna for single-input XM radios (dual-input radios require XM-SP splitter)
  • Recommended for all XM radio products
  • Extra long 23′ cable
  • Low profile design
  • Measures 1.38 x 0.5 x 1.25 inches (W x H x D)

Overview

XMicro2 delivers unsurpassed performance, and is compatible with all automotive XM Satellite Radio receivers. Measuring less than a half-inch tall, the TERK XMicro2s sleek, aerodynamic design hugs the roof or trunk of any vehicle and is virtually invisible when installed. The XMicro2 offers significantly enhanced functionality and installation versatility, thanks to its built-in FM modulator. This enables the XMicro2 to receive satellite radio signals and send them to the vehicles existing FM antenna, which then sends the signal to the cars head unit. This feature is designed specifically for the XM Roady2 and XM SKYFi2 XM Satellite Radio modules. This innovative design eliminates the necessity of using a cassette tape adapter to feed the signals from the XM Ready 2, or XM SKYFi2 receivers, greatly simplifying installation and eliminating the wires formerly required.
